Statement of Privacy

ABNB Federal Credit Union is committed to making financial products and services available that will enable members to meet their financial needs and reach their financial goals.

Protecting personal information and using it in an appropriate manner is a high priority for everyone associated with ABNB. To that end, we will maintain a strict policy on member confidentiality. Our policy is explained to and expected to be upheld by all credit union volunteers, employees, and business partners.

To ensure that members can rely on the quality of products and services we make available, ABNB stands behind the following privacy policy:

  • We will collect only the personal information that is necessary to conduct credit union business. That means only information that is necessary to provide competitive financial products and services.
  • We will maintain strong security controls to ensure that information in our files and computers is protected. Where appropriate, we will use security-coding techniques to protect against unauthorized access to personal records, ensure accuracy and integrity of communications and transactions, and protect member confidentiality.
  • Members will have the opportunity to review their information and make necessary changes to ensure our records are complete and accurate.
  • We may share information when absolutely necessary, but only in the following circumstances:
    • We will share information to administer the products and services we provide;
    • When required to do so by a court or other legal entity, or where it is lawfully permitted or required;
    • When we have agreed to provide information under contracts to vendors or partners to offer a broader array of products or services to members;
    • When a member requests or consents to the disclosure of the information. In cases where we provide information to vendors, we require they use it only for the purpose of providing specific services to members.
    • FACT Act Disclosure: We may report information about your account to credit bureaus. Late payments, missed payments, or other defaults on your account may be reflected in your credit report.
  • We will partner only with businesses that follow strict confidentiality standards. The businesses we select will offer products designed to enhance our members' economic well-being. Under no circumstances will we authorize these firms to charge a member account without their express consent, and we will not sell member information to telemarketing firms.
  • We will offer members a choice on how information is used. Any member may elect to keep their information from being shared with our business partners. We will inform members on how to exercise their choice, and we will take all reasonable steps to ensure the requests are followed. At least once a year, we will remind all members of their right to choose.
